Yes, the proximity is what pulled me to photograph them. I jumped at the opportunity to capture the symbiotic relationship - the Egret eating the bugs disturbed by the cattle grazing.
... even though the locals thought I was nuts photographing something so commonly viewed. It was like holding up traffic to photograph a deer on Salt Spring Island. :D
